It hardly seems fair to call my iPhone 4S (released October 14, 2011) “old,” but pretty soon it’s going to be!  I feel like I just got it, but that’s the way of the world isn’t it?  You about take something out of the box and it’s already the “old” version.

You guys know me pretty well by now, so you know that I’m a business owner. With that comes the complete inability to ever take a total vacation from work. So, when I do go on vacation, I have to take my office with me. Today I’m going to share with you a few tips on how to set up your mobile office so you can keep things moving and grooving while you’re catching some rays on vacation.

It used to be that when you wanted to do some marketing, you’d come up with a plan, nail down some messaging, develop collateral, and BAM! Marketing. But in today’s digital landscape, what you do and how well you do it are critical to the success of your campaign. Quite often, in the digital space, you only have one chance to impress your customers, so you can’t afford to waste time with malfunctioning links, difficult navigation, and error messages.

Last week we talked about the history of women in computer programming starting with Ada Lovelace in the 1840s, and moving on to Grace Hopper and The ENIAC Girls around WWII.

Last week Apple announced that it would be terminating its agreement to use Google Maps as the default location service for iOS. Instead, Apple is developing its own in-house application that will become standard starting this fall.

Why the change?  The mobile location service arena is the new battleground front...and it's about to get messy.

When we think about computer programmers, lots of times we picture men doing the job, but that stereotype is not so true, and today, we’re going to turn that whole idea on its ear.

It’s time the ladies took the spotlight here because women have a long, often overlooked history in computer programming. So, today we’re going to talk about that a little bit, but we’re going to paint this picture with some really broad strokes since this is a very big topic. We couldn’t hope to do it justice in a tiny blog post, so let’s do some highlights!
