We should never underestimate the Internet’s ability to provide new ways of interacting with people.
Last week when we were talking about the kitty playhouse that Friskies built, we started thinking about how many of us overlook the Internet as a viable way to do business. It goes beyond having a website or a few social media accounts. It’s about having fun, big ideas and having the courage to carry them out.
The miserable weather we've been having in Rhode Island this week is finally clearing up! We're all ready for some fun in the sun this weekend, but before we run off, we put together a little list of cool stuff from around the Internet for you to enjoy!
Brittany: Grace Hopper, an American pioneer computer scientist and United States Navy officer, will inflict her wrath from beyond the grave upon anyone who says that women can't be programmers in this awesome comic by Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal.

Have you guys gotten into using store apps at all yet? How great are they? I think it’s really reinventing the shopping experience, and eventually, we’ll be able to order everything from our phones.
Andre:This is a really fun site. You can upload an image and it provides you with lots of funny templates to put the image in. It's not really photoshop, but that's the idea.
Brittany: The hottest color for lab coats this summer is...WHITE! Go check out OMGScience! for some good, clean, nerdy fun!
When we think about computer programmers, lots of times we picture men doing the job, but that stereotype is not so true, and today, we’re going to turn that whole idea on its ear.
It’s time the ladies took the spotlight here because women have a long, often overlooked history in computer programming. So, today we’re going to talk about that a little bit, but we’re going to paint this picture with some really broad strokes since this is a very big topic. We couldn’t hope to do it justice in a tiny blog post, so let’s do some highlights!

Last week Apple announced that it would be terminating its agreement to use Google Maps as the default location service for iOS. Instead, Apple is developing its own in-house application that will become standard starting this fall.
Why the change? The mobile location service arena is the new battleground front...and it's about to get messy.
Kristen: Want to see somebody teach an annoying dancing banana a lesson? You'll LOL!
Liz: RIP Nora Ephron. To this day, I tell friends that I order my food like Sally from “When Harry Met Sally” and they all know what I mean. (And eat with me anyway.)
